In the past, our customers have asked countless times if they can fill our empty soil bags with their yard waste - old soil and dead sod.

Now they can!

We are now able to pick up our used soil bags filled with yard waste and rubbish, within the Greenhorizons service area.

We cannot take hazardous goods. The customer must sign a Declaration of Non Hazardous Goods.

We will be picking up bags on our regular suggested days.

How much can I put in a bag?
Do not overfill. Maximum 1,800 lbs. The contents should not go higher than the top of the yellow portion of the bag. Do not overfill the bag into the green top.
The bag must be upright and level so the forks of a forklift can go through all the loops of the bag at once.

How big is a forklift?
Our forklifts are 9 feet (3 meters) wide, 16 feet (5 meters) tall and 16 feet (5 meters) long and weigh over 2 tonnes. Although they can turn in a very small area, they cannot go into car ports or close to house overhangs. Please make sure there are no overhead obstructions.

What if I already returned the bag or do not have an empty bag?
You can pick up the bag at our office at 2907 Upper James in Mount Hope for $5 or we can deliver you an empty bag for $30.

Do I still receive the $5 refund on the bag?
Because the bags cannot be reused after they have been filled with garbage, the bag refund is not given when we pick up your "Yard Waste and Rubbish".

What if the bag is not accessible to the Greenhorizons forklifts?
A charge of $25 will be billed for our pick-up attempt. Please be sure the bag is placed where a 9-foot wide forklift can access it without overhead obstructions.

What can I put in the bag?
Yard waste, typical household waste, construction waste, soil, sand and concrete. No hazardous waste - including paint or aerosol cans, tires, propane tanks, asbestos,contaminated soil or any other hazardous waste.
